Why do subscriptions go through the web and not the app?
Subscriptions purchased on the web go directly to Source-E via Stripe. Apple charges a 30% fee on all in-app purchases — which would mean charging you more for the same plan. Paying via this web page means more money goes to you and us both. This is the same approach used by Spotify, Netflix, and Patreon.
When do I get charged?
You're charged on the day you subscribe, then on the same date every month (or year for annual plans). Stripe sends you a receipt automatically. You can view all invoices in your Stripe billing portal.
What happens to my matches if I downgrade?
Any existing matches and active projects remain unaffected. You keep access until the end of your billing period. After downgrade, your account reverts to Free plan limits — 1 match request per month and standard review time.
Is the 10% transaction fee on top of the subscription?
Yes — the subscription unlocks features (unlimited matches, priority review, etc.) and reduces your transaction fee. Pro subscribers pay 7.5% instead of 10% on each deal. Elite subscribers pay 5%. The free tier pays the full 10%.
