A shadow operator is a specialist who works behind the scenes to build the revenue infrastructure for a creator or business. This includes VSL funnels, webinar systems, email sequences, offer architecture, and book-a-call flows. They are not on camera, not on the brand — they build the machine that monetises the audience the creator has already built.
Source-E earns revenue through three streams: (1) A 10% transaction fee split equally between creator and operator on every completed project — 5% from each party. (2) Optional Pro subscriptions ($49/mo) for unlimited match requests and priority placement. (3) Elite subscriptions ($149/mo) for premium features and dedicated support. We are fully transparent about every fee.
All payments are processed through Stripe, a globally regulated payment processor. When a project is agreed upon: (1) The creator funds the project in full via Stripe. (2) Funds are held in secure escrow. (3) The operator delivers the work. (4) The creator reviews and approves the delivery. (5) Stripe automatically releases 90% to the operator and retains 10% for Source-E. If a dispute arises, Source-E acts as a neutral mediator with a 7-day resolution window.
You have a 7-day dispute window after work is delivered. During this period, you can flag a concern and our team reviews the dispute neutrally. If the work does not meet the agreed scope, funds can be partially or fully refunded. We require all projects to have a written scope of work agreed upon before payment.
Our recommended starting benchmarks are 10,000+ YouTube subscribers or 10,000–20,000 Instagram followers. That said, we review every application individually. If you have strong engagement, a clear niche, and credible content history, you may qualify below these numbers.
Yes. Creators and operators can join Source-E from anywhere in the world. However, Stripe payouts to operators require that the operator be located in a country supported by Stripe Connect (currently 46+ countries). All platform communications are in English. South Africa is the platform's founding jurisdiction.
